Success should be defined before work begins and matched to the engagement. A migration may be judged by data reconciliation, redirect coverage, operational continuity, crawl health, and post-launch stability. CRO work needs a valid baseline, experiment design, and guardrails. Development may focus on task completion, defects, performance, accessibility, or operational time saved. Revenue can matter, but an agency should not claim sole credit for outcomes influenced by product, price, media, seasonality, and market conditions.
How Inficial approaches it
Connect delivery measures to a business decision
Separate delivery quality from commercial performance. Shipping the agreed implementation correctly is one question. Whether that implementation changes customer or operational behaviour is another. Both should be measured, but they need different evidence and timeframes.
Document the baseline, data source, calculation, reporting cadence, owner, known limitations, and decision that follows each measure. Do not accept a dashboard whose definitions change after launch.
Measurement questions to settle before kickoff
- What outcome is the work intended to influence?
- Which delivery, quality, and commercial measures apply?
- What is the baseline and source of truth?
- Which external factors could change the result?
- When is the result mature enough to interpret?
- Who reviews the evidence and decides the next action?
