What happens to products, customers, orders, and content?

Inficial Shopify FAQShopify Migration

Products, variants, customers, selected historical orders, pages, blogs, files, and other records can often move to Shopify, but field compatibility varies. We define the destination model, mapping rules, required history, exclusions, and archive plan. Test migrations and count, value, and relationship checks are used before production cutover.

How Inficial approaches it

Map every source entity to a destination or archive decision

Some information cannot be transferred through Shopify CSV files, and source-platform features may need a different Shopify structure. Historical data that is unnecessary for daily operations can sometimes remain in a controlled archive instead of adding complexity to the live store.

Validate more than total record counts

  • Product options, variants, media, pricing, and inventory
  • Customer identity, consent, addresses, and tags
  • Order totals, discounts, taxes, payments, and fulfilment
  • Pages, posts, files, metadata, and URL relationships
  • Exceptions, duplicates, rejected records, and archive access
