What Wix data can migrate to Shopify?

Inficial Shopify FAQWix to Shopify

Products, customers, selected historical orders, reviews, pages, media, and other content can often move using Shopify’s migration app, CSV files, third-party tools, manual work, or APIs where available. Field availability and source quality determine the final scope, so imported data must be checked rather than assumed complete.

Separate an export from a completed migration

Plan products, customers, historical orders, reviews, and website content as separate workstreams. They do not necessarily use the same import method. Shopify’s Wix guide describes CSV mapping and other migration options; availability of its early-access migration app must be checked for the actual store. A source export is useful input, not proof that every field has a Shopify destination.

Test a varied sample before importing the entire catalog: a product with options, one with multiple images, an unavailable item, and any digital or service offering. Compare the resulting price, stock, image order, visibility, and customer-facing details. Check exported order history separately from live fulfilment so an old purchase is not accidentally treated as a new order to ship.

What to check before deciding

  • List the records and historical period that must move.
  • Identify fields missing from each export and how they will be recovered.
  • Reconcile product options, images, prices, and inventory with source records.
  • Approve customer/order relationships and document anything retained in an archive.
